Google Penguin Algorithm Update: SEO Guidelines Tips

Google has been constantly working on and updating their ranking algorithm, and that activities usually stir the web on every release. Well, these updates obviously leads to new set of SEO guidelines and strategies; And a lot of speculations will also follow and only few people really know what exactly is the game plan.

Since there are really no concrete explanations provided by Google, this will keep clueless webmasters and SEO enthusiasts busy for a while on figuring out how to answer their test papers without instructions. Look, its like a game master announcing a game-change-of-rules without giving out exactly what the new rules are. Wow! that’s crazy, I know right. But we just don’t want to ignore these factors and end up with affected websites and the worse, get penalized. Do we?

So big question marks pop up on every SEO guys’ heads. Whats the next step to do? How to keep and stay on top of the list? Can I still practice techniques that I usually do? bla3x.. etc2x..

Awryt, relax dude! As Google keeps on closing it’s hands from giving out candies. Hmm… I’m thinking, there might be a way to read Google’s mind  and take a peek on its objectives. Hey! This has nothing to do with being psychic mind reader or something, or breaking into Google Labs and do some crazy “Mission Impossible” stunts. That would be cool though, but its not that. What I mean is this, as what people say  ”Sometimes you can get a better vision of an object if viewed from a distance”. Actually Im not really sure if that is the right phrase though but the thought should be something like that.

Alright, lets take a look on the picture and see how some words of wisdom and philosophy can help us here and derive some personal conclusions out from it.

Actions speaks louder than words – ok, yeah, Google may not be that clear in giving out SEO guidelines, but isnt it obvious that Google is a search engine? And what it does is, it helps people provide the best answers to all queries as possible. So its intention is to top list websites and articles that make a lot of sense and filter out those crappy things from ranking.

Cleanliness is next to Godliness – Now this isn’t literally about being God. The web these days is getting filled with spams, hoax, dummy sites, unwanted files and all that crap and Google don’t want those to get on list. So basically Google wants to clean out the result list and get rid of those unwanted and misleading pages. Of course, Google choose websites that are neatly built in terms of scripts, coding and contents.

Honesty is the best policy – Stop practicing Black hat SEO, Google spiders are getting smarter. I’m telling you, they will hunt and bust you down and dump your site like sh…(I can’t say it)….

Customers are always right - We need to value our websites’ visitors and users. So Google prioritize you on the list if you are most visited, trendy and being talked about. That means traffic man.

Awryt enough of that. Lets get straight now. So what I am stressing out here is Google wants quality, quality and quality. So this Google Penguin Algorithm Update is nothing but just another milestone of getting REAL websites on the list and keeping out crappy and spammy pages out of the picture. You see, Google is just going to one direction and these updates are just some patches to make their processes even better and more efficient.

Let me share to you some SEO Tips and best practices:

Quality backlinks over quantity backlinks – Those low-end link juices will compromise your ranking. It will drag you down.

Get Social – Integrate some twist on your website to be more interactive to the users. Please the users and give them a reason to come back constantly to your site. Placing social media API’s and RSS feeds stuff really helps a lot.

No black hat Approach – some black hat strategy might still work but it wont be for long. This Google Penguin is smart and will bust you.

Use TLD for a purpose -Tlds has its purpose so use it appropriately.

Quality Content - You don’t just post duplicate content and confuse your readers, apply 301 redirection if necessarily  and make sure your posts are interesting, informational and unique.

Total site Performance -  Also might as well check on the code structure of your site and your sites’ responses to users’ requests. It will really matter a lot.

Know your website – Better take some time to study the framework you are using, basically on how to use it. It will make you aware of what the site is actually doing. So its more like being in control of you website.

Now all of these are focusing on the website quality stuff, just like what Google is after of. I hope my short tale helps you put your puzzle pieces together and has opened your eyes if you got blinded by misleading influences. So apparently my strategy is always getting on the same page with Google.
